The Team
The founders of the AdEd Knowledge Company LLP, Marion Horton and John Grayson have distinguished careers in community development, adult education and participative research.
Marion and John have worked together on a range of projects since the 1990’s. They have developed methods of accreditation and delivered courses for community health workers, food workers, tenants and community groups. They have worked together extensively on Coalfields regeneration issues. They supported Hungarian colleagues and helped to develop the Civil College in Kunbabony in 1997. They have organised and led international study tours and exchanges for community activists as well as professionals and civil servants, with partners in Sweden and Hungary. In 2005/6 they organised a study visit to Malmo, Sweden for refugees and workers and in March 2006 a study visit for Gypsies and Travellers and workers to Roma projects in Hungary. They have been involved in joint research and publication, and in 2007/ 8 were involved with Swedish Universities and folk high schools in Gothenburg producing guidelines for UNESCO on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Recently Marion and John have developed a range of anti – racist courses and programmes, and joint publications.
